ISLAMABAD - The ruling party MNA and Parliamentary Secretary on Textile, Commerce, Industries & Production and Board of Investment Aliya Hamza Malik on Monday urged National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to take action against famous TV anchor Hamid Mir for his recent remarks against the Army.
In a letter written to the Speaker, the parliamentary secretary said that “anti-state propaganda must not be termed as freedom of speech” and it is high time that the journalist must be questioned as he has “spitted venom against the state of Pakistan.”
“I strongly urge the Speaker and Chairman (NA Standing) Committee on Defence to call him in a meeting and ask (him) to provide evidence and proof of whatever he is saying and also register a case of treason (again him),” the letter said.
