LAHORE - Khadija Chishti slammed another ton to guide Lahore Cricket Club to a huge 240-run victory over Gulberg Club in the 2nd Warid Women T20 Cricket Tournament 2016 here at the LCWU cricket ground on Saturday.

Lahore Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision paid dividend as they posted a mammoth total of 274 runs on the board for the loss of just one wicket in the allotted 20 overs. Khadija Chishti batted with authority and blasted unbeaten 130 runs while she was ably assisted by Fazila Akhlaq who hammered 64 runs. The only wicket of Lahore Club was taken by Sehrish.

Gulberg Cricket Club replied very poorly as they lost quick wickets and the wickets kept on falling like nine pin balls and they were bundled out for paltry 34 runs in 9 overs. Only Nida could reach double figures as she scored 10 runs. Nashra Sindhu was wrecker-in-chief of Gulberg Club batting as she grabbed six wickets while Waheda Akhtar clinched three wickets.

In another match of the day, Garrison Cricket Club trounced Wahdat Club by three wickets. Wahdat Club won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision proved wrong as they couldn’t manage to score big runs on the board and were restricted to 94-9 in the allotted overs. Only Shagufta Akhtar batted well and scored 25 runs. Minahil Ahmad took two wickets. Garrison Cricket Club, in reply, achieved the target for the loss of seven wickets in 14 overs. Najma Zafer remained top scorer with unbeaten 50 runs. Asma Sikander got two wickets for Wahdat Club.
