Murree admin demolishes 27 commercial structures in 15 days

Exterior walls of 8 houses were also razed

Rawalpindi-Anti-encroachment campaign on the directives of Punjab government has been accelerated in Murree while the tehsil administration demolished 27 commercial structures besides razing exterior walls of eight houses during last 15 days.
According to Assistant Commissioner Murree, Muhammad Umar Maqbool, tehsil Murree administration on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Muhammad Ali launched grand operation and took action in accordance with the law against the rules violators.
He informed that the administration demolished commercial structures and removed encroachments due to non-payment of commercialisation fee, occupation of highways by land mafia and non-payment of Rs 30.6 million building plan fee.
The AC informed that temporary and permanent encroachments were removed and the roads were cleared on 25km long Express Highway from Khetar Toll Plaza to Mouza Masiari.
During the operation, 10 temporary and permanent structures were demolished besides pulling down exterior walls of eight houses. 
Fourteen structures were also demolished in different areas.
The team also demolished a commercial structure on Bhurban Road besides destroying two illegal structures in Danna area. 
The grand operation against encroachments would continue and strict action would be taken against the rules violators, he added.
