Islamabad Police on Saturday said that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan could be arrested if he didn’t appear before the court.
Spokesman Islamabad Police said on the social media website Twitter that the arrest warrant of PTI Chairman Imran Khan is a legal process. The former prime minister did not appear in court during the previous hearing.
Islamabad police said that the arrest warrant has been issued to ensure the former PM appears before the court in the next hearing. The honorable Islamabad High Court had issued an order to strike out the charges of terrorism from case number 407/22. After this order, the case was transferred to the session court.
The spokesperson further said that Imran Khan has not yet obtained his bail from the session court and he can be arrested if he does not appear, adding that the people are requested not to listen to rumors.
