Federal Minister for Planning and Chairman National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) Asad Umar has stated on Wednesday that single day vaccination crosses one and a half million for the very first time.
In a chain of posts on social-networking website Twitter, the minister said, “Yesterday, 1.59 million vaccinations were carried out. Both first dose and second dose vaccinations were highest ever with 1 million 71 thousand and 519 thousand respectively.”
He went on to say that "We had set a minimum target of 40 percent of 18 plus population being partially vaccinated by end August for 24 large cities. Only cities to miss the target were Hyderabad, Mardan, Nowshera and Quetta."
Asad Umar added that "35% of national eligible population has received at least 1 dose. Islamabad is at 69%, Azad Kashmir 51%, Gilgit Baltistan 39%, Punjab 37%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35%, Sindh 32% and Balochistan 12%."
