Smart lockdown has been imposed by the district administration in five localities of Peshawar from Tuesday 9:00pm omwards owing to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
As per the district administration, smart lockdown has been imposed in Faisal Colony, Hayatabad Phase 6, Faqeerabad, Zaryab Colony and Ejaz Abad.
It is pertinent to note that all kinds of gatherings within these localities are strictly prohibited.
Moreover, all shops other than those of essential services (pharmacies, general stores, food supplies, tandoors, drinking water supplies, emergency etc.) shall remain closed within these localities.
Furthermore, congregation in mosques shall be restricted to five persons only.
Lastly, general entry or exit to these localities by any person, except those supplying essential commodities would be prohibited.
It is to note that anyone violating the restrictions will be booked under sections 17 and 18 of the KP Epidemic Control and Emergency Relief Act 2020 and Section 33 of the National Disaster Management Authority Act, 2010.
