Siraj sees horse-trading in formation of new govt

LAHORE - Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Senator Sirajul Haq has alleged that the foundations of the new government are being laid through horse-trading.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said that the status quo and the oppressive system which the masses disliked and wanted to throw out, were enforced after every election against the will of the general public.

Sirajul Haq said that the JI wanted reforms in the system in order to provide relief to the  common man. He said the JI did not believe in opposition for the sake of opposition.

He said that in the democratic system, a strong opposition served as a mirror. He said the JI would not feel shy of appreciating every good work of the new government. However, as and when there was any move that could harm the identity and the honour of the country and the nation, the JI would definitely play its role.

He said that at the APC being held on August two, all the parties would decide a common line of action.

Meanwhile, a leader of the MMA ruled out the impression of differences among the parties of the alliance. He said MMA was an alliance of five religious parties and all were agreed to play a role of an effective opposition in parliament. He said people in millions have expressed confidence on MMA by giving vote to its candidates across the country.
