Like other parts of the world, AIDS Day was observed in the country to create awareness among the people about the deadly disease. Several events like walks, seminars and discussions were held to mark the day.  This year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Know your status”, focusses on the importance of HIV testing as a gateway to HIV prevention and treatment, according to the UN. In his message on the day, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar vowed to raise awareness among the people. “Today, we make a commitment that public awareness will be increased,” he added.–Staff Reporter
