NAB to file reference in Ogra scam

ISLAMABAD - The Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file complete reference in Oil Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) multibillion rupee corruption scam against former chairman OGRA Tauqir Sadiq and others till February 4, besides providing the copy of it to the accused involved in the scam list.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of AC-1 Islamabad took up the case for hearing on Saturday. He remarked, "Now no more slackness will be allowed". Tauqir Sadiq, former chairman OGRA was produced in Accountability Court (AC) in OGRA corruption case. NAB authorities prayed to the court that objections raised on the reference are being removed. Therefore, more time should be given for his final submission.
During the hearing of the case Taquir Sadiq said, "I have been sent to jail but no reference has been filed against me so far. I have no information about reference." The court told Tauqir that everything would be provided to him. The court directed NAB to provide a copy of reference to Taquir.
Meanwhile, well-placed sources told The Nation on Saturday that the compilation of the reference was in the process as the OGRA scam reference has more than 6,000 pages and the NAB was bound to present about 17 copies of the reference in the AC -1 Islamabad and the federal watchdog after constant effort of four photo state machines has yet compiled only eight copies of the reference.
Similarly, the sources claimed that the final challan of OGRA multibillion rupee scam with reference and evidences would be submitted before the court prior to the deadline directed by the AC-1 Islamabad, though the NAB has missed several deadlines before during the course of interrogation and investigation.
