Rawalpindi - Garbage dumps along Saidpur Road have become a nuisance for the residents of the locality as well as commuters and motorists, as these dumps are producing a foul smell posing health threat to them.
The garbage dumps are a breeding place for bacteria and give rise to a number of diseases including diarrhoea and cholera. The whole area is littered with plastic bags and garbage.
Residents of the area have expressed concern over dumping of garbage in open along roadside. Residents of Banni, Jamia Masjid Road, Nadeem Colony, Raheemabad, Sadiqabad, Muslim Town and Bagh Sardaran are also facing similar problems, as there is no proper system of garbage disposal.
