Gwadar’s water issue

The shortage of water in Gwadar, Baluchistan speaks volumes about the negligence of the authorities at the helm. This is also one of the leading factors contributing to the sense of deprivation among the people of the district. GYM provincial president Sharif Baloch expressed concerns over the non functions of Karat Desalination Water Plant, which was built at an estimated cost of Rs 980 million with generating capacity of 2 million gallons of water per day. The mantra of success regarding CPEC cannot be deemed true unless the people of Gwadar have fresh water to drink. As the final resorts, the government should be striving as soon as possible to provide water to the district Gwadar.
