Restrictions imposed in Shopian to prevent march

In Indian Held Kashmir, the authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and Shopian to foil a march towards Shopian town, today reported Kashmir Media Service.

Call for the march has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to express solidarity with the families of the civilians who were recently killed in the brutal actions of Indian troops in the district.

However, the authorities have imposed stringent restrictions in Srinagar and Shopian to prevent people from converging at the Jamia Masjid in Shopian from where a rally will be conducted up to the main chowk of the town after Friday prayers. The puppet authorities have put Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Aasiya Andrabi, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Bashir Ahmad Butt, Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Umar Aadil Dar and Muhammad Yousuf Makroo under house arrest or in custody to stop them from leading the march. Indian police raided the residences of Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Javaid Ahmed Zargar and Zahoor Ahmed Butt and harassed the inmates.

The occupation authorities have also suspended train service between Baramulla area of the Kashmir Valley and Banihal area of Jammu region.
