LHC allows Ishaq Dar to contest Senate polls

Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected plea seeking to cancel candidacy of former finance minister Ishaq Dar for contesting him in Senate elections.

A two-member full bench conducted the hearing on Pakistan People’s Party leader Nawabzada Nawazish Ali ’s plea in which he said Ishaq Dar is an asserted accused in Panama Papers due to which he cannot contest in upcoming Senate elections.

Nawabzada Nawazish Ali has requested the court to nullify the decision of allowing Ishaq Dar to participate in Senate polls.

The LHC dismissed the plea and upheld its decision.
