400-acre land allocated for new airport in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved allotment of 400-acre of land for construction of a new airport in Faisalabad.

This airport will be established near economic zones of Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (FEDMC), said FIEDMC spokesman on Saturday. He said that Punjab government in collaboration with Punjab Board of Technical Education would also establish FIEDMC Center of Excellence while CM also granted approval for construction of a road from Sahianwala to Jaranwala for speedy access to M-3 Motorway from FIEDMC’s economic zones.

Chairman FIEDMC Mian Kashif Ashfaq thanked Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and said that these initiatives would be very helpful in attracting global investors to invest in FIEDMC’s economic zones.

Two arrested with 400 kites

Mansoorabad police claimed to have arrested two shopkeepers and recovered more than 400 kites from their possession.

Police spokesman said on Saturday that the police, on a tip-off, conducted raid at Nishatabad Bridge and Jaranwala Road and nabbed two shopkeepers Nafees and Shahid red handed while dealing in kite-flying material. The police also recovered more than 400 kites and other paraphernalia from their possession while further investigation was under progress.

DC visits Corona Vaccination Center

Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq has directed to increase the capacity of Coronavirus Vaccination Center established at Sports Complex Pasrur Road Sialkot.

In addition to increasing the number of staff to vaccinate more than 6,000 people daily against coronavirus, various age group counters have also been set up. He stated this during his visit to the Corona Vaccination Center established at the Sports Complex.

He said that during Ramazan, Corona Vaccination Center would operate in two shifts, the first shift would be from 10:00AM to 4:00PM, while the second shift from 9:00PM to 1:00AM.

The DC directed the district administration and local Health department officials to set up information counters for guidance of people. He said that there would be a complete lockdown in the city on Friday and Saturday and all kinds of businesses and markets would remain completely closed. Only medical stores, petrol pumps, vaccination centers, dairy, meat and vegetable shops  remain open.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq visited Vegetable and Fruit Market, Aimenabad Road and inspected the prices and quality of vegetables and fruits.
