Sh Rashid files protection applications with police, COAS

ISLAMABAD - Former interior minister and a strong critic of the sitting rulers, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Sunday filed two separate applications with the police and chief of the army staff (COAS) for his protection.

Sheikh Rashid said his nephew Rashid Shafique has been arrested in a fake case and he himself also has life threat from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, CM Punjab Hamza Shehbaz, Mian Nawaz Sharif, and others.  While referring to Madina incident and government actions, he said that he submitted an application to the police station Kohsar in Islamabad that Rana Sanaullah was giving threats to him and if he would be murdered outside or in the jail, above mentioned people would be held responsible for his killing.

Says he has life threat from sitting rulers

Sheikh Rashid said that some suspicious people have been deputed outside his media centre located in Islamabad on Saturday night. The former interior minister   confirmed that he has made a request to the Army chief, and director generals of the ISI, Military Intelligence (MI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe into the matter of removing certain people’s names from the Exit Control List. He also condemned those people involved in rowdy scenes witnessed at Masjid-e-Nabvi in Madina, the other day.

The Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid also said that if Marriyum Aurangzeb gives testimony that his nephew Rashid Shafique was there in Masjid-e-Nabvi that day, he will accept her claim. He predicted again that wherever they [rulers] go in the world, they would face the public reaction.
