CM promises 35,000 subsidised apartments in Lahore

LAHORE - State Minister Shabbir Ali Qureshi called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office to discuss matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the CM assured to fulfil the promise of providing roof to the people and stated that 35,000 subsidised apartments would be constructed in Lahore with a cost of Rs180 billion. “The construction of 4,000 apartments is being started in the first phase,” he added and maintained that business-friendly reforms in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had yielded positive results. “Amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations will encourage the construction of high-rise buildings to attract huge investments and job opportunities,” he remarked. “The approval of buildings’ maps is granted in 30 days. The government is following the policy of composite development in backward and remote areas such as Kot Addu,” concluded the CM.
State Minister Shabbir Qureshi appreciated the balanced development vision, adding: “The positive results of this approach are visible in the province.” Provincial Housing Minister Asad Khokhar was also present on the occasion.
