PML-N workers asked to gear up for polls


MULTAN - Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan stressed upon the workers on Saturday to go for the upcoming elections with maximum unity so that the party candidates could defeat the opponents.
Addressing workers at local circuit house, he added that the masses were sensible enough and they exactly knew that which party served and which party befooled them. "Even yet approach the masses and inform them about the development schemes launched by the Punjab Government," he added. He claimed that the Punjab Govt materialized its promises one after one and soon the accomplished development schemes would serve as evidence to the provincial govt's services to the masses.
Provincial ministers Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi and Ch Abdul Ghafoor, MNAs - Rana Mahmoodul Hassan and Sheikh Tariq Rasheed, PML-N District President Bilal Butt, City President Rana Shahidul Hassan and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the divisional committee formed for review the situation of different constituencies of Multan division and to interviewing party's MNA and MPA ticket-holders convened.
The elected representatives including MNAs and MPAs, tickets holders and prospective candidates from Multan, Vehari, Lodhran and Khanewal districts of Multan division appeared before the committee and delivered their presentations.
Steps on to keep UAF 'dengue free zone': The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad is maintaining to keep its Campus as a "Dengue Free Zone". In this regard consecutive surveillance on scientific lines is being carried out at various spots all around the campus. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing the participants of anti-dengue walk organised by the Career Development Centre (CDC) in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Entomology here the other day.
Dr Iqrar said that the UAF would organise series of events on Sunday (today) at the campus to create awareness about dengue among students.
He maintained that all offices and departments will remain open for the purpose. Dr Iqrar lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister for coping with catastrophic like situation particularly hazards of dengue in the province. He said that UAF scientists were playing key role to overcome the menace. The UAF VC hoped that due to preventive measures and yearlong planning by the Punjab government the intensity of Dengue would be contained. He reiterated his commitment to keep the environment of UAF Campus as a dengue free through hygienic parameters.  Department of Agri Entomology Chairman Dr Anjum Sohail, CDC Programme Officers - Miss Asifa and Miss Aneela Javed also address the participants of the walk.
