Bus terminals sealed, areas placed under lockdown in Peshawar

Peshawar-The district administration on Wednesday sealed several bus terminals while 184 transporters and 113 passengers were fined over violations of the corona-related SOPs.
A spokesman for the district administration, Sajid Khan, said that the administration and Transport Department sealed Charsadda Adda (bus terminal), Delawar Travels, Sania Express.  
The teams visited GT Road, Kohat Road and Charsadda Road and fined transporters as well as passengers in BRT stations too, for violation of the SOPs.
The spokesman said that 620 teams were visiting homes for vaccinating people against COVID while there are 70 vaccination centres at different locations in the provincial capital.
In addition, 21 mobile vans were also operational providing vaccination facility to the people at public places in Peshawar.
Smart lockdown imposed: Meanwhile, the administration has imposed smart lockdown in several localities of Peshawar. The areas under the lockdown include Faisal Colony, several streets in Hayatabad Township, Faqeerabad, some streets in Zaryab Colony and Ijazabad.
The areas mentioned will only have medicine stores, nanbais, health facilities and food/water supply facilities open, while other businesses will remain closed. Also, no more than five persons would be allowed to offer congregational prayers in the areas placed under the smart lockdown.
