RO summons Dastagir as rival ups the ante

GUJRANWALA - Returning Officer Tariq Javed summoned PML-N candidate from NA-96 Khurram Dastagir Khan while taking up an application seeking his disqualification under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution on Thursday (tomorrow).
Reportedly, Raza Hameed, also a candidate from NA-96, filed an application with Returning officer Tariq Javed, contending that PML-N candidate Khurram Dastagir had submitted incomplete documents as details of his foreign tours had not been mentioned. He claimed that this act of the former MNA tantamount to concealment of facts thus making him ineligible to contest elections under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
The RO summoned Khurram Dastagir to produce complete documents personally on Wednesday (today).
Meanwhile, Raza Hameed while talking to The Nation claimed that the documents submitted by his rival were incomplete and facts had been deliberately manipulated to conceal corruption. He maintained that instead of providing details of his foreign tours, he had just mentioned NGO and that too without a name, to have been sponsored him. Raza Hameed alleged that the act of his rival pointed towards intentional concealment of corruption which made him ineligible to contest elections. He added that Khurram Dastagir even did not submit details of foreigners who invited him and copies of expenditures he had ‘otherwise’ made from the public exchequer.
