Girl burnt to death over enmity

SHIKARPUR - A girl was burnt alive while her two siblings – sister and brother – suffered burns after two unidentified persons set a room of their house on fire. The incident occurred at Alif Shah Shaheed Colony within the jurisdiction of Lakhi Gate Police Station in the wee hours of Saturday during the electricity loadshedding.
According to the house owner, Badaruddin Shaikh, two unidentified culprits barged into the room at first floor of the house. The attackers first tortured his daughter Maryam, 17. She also showed resistance. Later, they entered the room where three other house inmates including Iram, 17, sister of Maryam, her younger sister Amber, 14, and their brother Barkat Ali Shaikh, 19, were sleeping. The culprits set the room on fire by sprinkling petrol over them and escaped.
Iram was burnt alive while her younger sister Amber and her brother Barkat Ali Shaikh were seriously injured, told Badaruddin. The injured were referred to Karachi hospital after the first-aid at Civil Hospital, Shikarpur. The body of Iram Shaikh was handed over to her parents after the post-mortem examination.
Badar said the incident of fire was occurred due to enmity in which according to him, his neighbour Ghulamuddin Shaikh was involved. Ghulamuddin was also involved in the incident of robbery, committed some time ago, at his house, he alleged. Neither an FIR was registered nor any arrest was made till this story was filed.

TWO KIDNAPPEES RECOVERED

The Shikarpur district police have recovered two kidnappees during an encounter in Katcha area near Kashmore within the jurisdiction of Naparkot Police Station on late Friday night.
Two villagers identified as Younis Samejo of village Pir Bakhsh Sujrah Tehsil Khanpur and Adam Abro, resident of village Gaheja Tehsil Garhi Yasin, were kidnapped from Pir Bakhsh Shurah Link Road four months ago by a group of four armed culprits. Shikarpur SSP informed the media, during his press conference on Friday night, that the kidnappers belonged to the gang of Jhangle Teghani and Musto Jaffari. They were also involved in the murder of two police constables who were murdered at the police post near Chak Town few months back. The SSP announced Rs0.2 million reward for the police team which done the encounter. According to SSP, the Sindh IGP will also announce further reward money soon, he said.
