FM Qureshi dismisses impression of Pak-India ties, trade to homogenise

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has dismissed the impression that Pakistan-India relations and trade ties have normalized.

In a statement on Saturday, he said that relations between Pakistan and India have not gone back to normal and that the government has made a clear decision that under the current circumstances, Pakistan will not open trade with India.

Talking about the opposition, Shah Mahmood said the interest-based unnatural alliance of PDM has come to an end. The movement failed to achieve its agenda and differences between PPP and PML-N became apparent.

The Foreign Minister said that those who came out to overthrow the government have returned to their homes. Unlike the PTI government which aims to alleviate poverty and achieve sustainable development goals, PDM has no agenda for public development, he added.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that development of South Punjab is our foremost priority and establishment of the Secretariat will be the first step towards this goal.

He further said that the misunderstanding regarding secretariat has been made clear. And soon it will be allowed to function independently.
