SC ruling proved PM Imran’s govt stole Daska votes: Maryam

LAHORE   -  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Friday expressed happiness over the decision of Supreme Court (SC) to hold re-polling in National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-75 Daska.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, Maryam Nawaz said, “Today, it has been proved that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and his government had stolen the votes of Daska people.” These corrupt elements also need to be made accountable for the kidnapping of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) staff, she demanded. Maryam Nawaz further congratulated the PML-N workers and candidate Nosheen Iftekhar for bravely fighting these ‘thieves’.

Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the decision of SC represents the stance of the masses. “We will expose the conspiracy of disrespecting vote and abducting electoral staff,” she assured.

The reactions came after SC rejected the plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and upheld the decision of ECP regarding re-election in entire National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-75 Daska. A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Umer Ata Bandial, heard the petition of PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi, challenging the ECP order of re-election in NA-75 Daska. Announcing the reserved judgment, Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that the situation was not under control in the constituency on the day of polling.
