Computer killed booti mafia, says minister

LAHORE - Resources of Punjab government are always available for the intelligent students and position holders as they are the asset of the nation and booti mafia has been curbed to a great extent through the computerized results of examination. Punjab Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman while addressing a ceremony at Al-Hamra Art Council, arranged for the Lahore Board position holder students said that no stone would be left unturned for progress in the field of education under directives of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He congratulated teachers and parents of the position holder students and said that such intelligent minds are presenting a picture of enlightened and bright future of the country as well. The minister said that it has been proven through the holding of examinations as per same date sheet and the announcement of results on same day that difficulties have no importance before determination. Talking about Punjab government measures to improve education system, the minister said that Punjab Educational Endowment Fund amount reached Rs 8 billion that started from Rs 2 billion and more than 16000 students of the province have been awarded stipends. The minister further said that the number of beneficiaries could reach 30000 next year from 16000, as Punjab government has open mind and heart also for the other provinces under the directives of CM Punjab regarding progress in field of education. The minister revealed that 26 position holders who went abroad this year out of them, six students belonged to other provinces. The minister said that recruitment of 40,000 teachers on merit, setting up of IT labs in more than 4000 schools, appreciation ceremonies for position holders, eradication of self financing schemes from colleges, commendatory certificates and stipends for positions holders and establishment of Danish School System are such measures of the Punjab government that would be prove as milestone in the field of education.
