Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed has made yet another prediction, saying that several Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders will testify against the Sharifs in the corruption references.
Speaking with the media outside the Bani Gala - residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday - the AML chief also said that the former ruling party would soon collapse. He claimed that PML-N leaders – including Ishaq Dar – would confess to their crimes.
Former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar are currently serving jail sentences after their conviction in the Avenfield reference. Three more references against the former ruling family are pending adjudication in the court.
Sheikh Rasheed dismissed the rumours about defections within PTI in Punjab, where PML-N is also engaged in wheeling and dealing in an effort to form its government in the province.
He claimed that PTI would unveil a coalition government in Punjab by Monday. “I know the names of the proposed chief minister and cabinet members, but I would not disclose them here because Imran Khan has asked me to keep them to myself.”
