PESHAWAR - A day after terrorist attack on the Agriculture Training Institute in the provincial capital, the Counter-Terrorism Department has arrested two alleged terrorists near Jumma Khan Khwar in Nasir Bagh area here on Saturday.
During the raid, the CTD personnel recovered eight explosive sticks and a pistol. The suspects were also wanted in several cases of target killing.
Meanwhile, in a search operation the police arrested nine suspects from various localities of the provincial capital, an official of the Badhbher Police Station confirmed.
The search and strike operation was carried out in a bid to maintain peace and all the nine suspects were shifted to a police station for questioning.
The operation started at mid-night and was launched after the security forces received a tip-off about the presence of suspects in the area.
According to detail, the operation was carried out in Badhbher, Telaband and other areas outside the provincial capital.
Arms of various types including three pistols, 8mm rifles, 12-bore rifles, sub-machine guns (SMG) and a large quantity of ammunition were also recovered from the arrested suspects.
The arrested suspects were shifted to police station for interrogation.
The security forces searched at least 45 houses during the operation.
