Sialkot DC to hire 868 sanitary workers soon

SIALKOT-The Sialkot District Council will soon recruit as many as 868 sanitary workers for providing better cleanliness facilities to people in all the 1544 villages of district's all the 124 rural union councils.
Chairperson Sialkot District Council Hina Arshad Warraich stated this while talking to the newsmen after attending Punjab Chief Secretary's video conference regarding the progress about the "Punjab Saaf Dehaat Programme" held at Sialkot DC Office here on Friday.
She said that the District Council will recruit six sanitary workers with a supervisor in every rural union council of the district, adding that as each sanitary worker will get Rs13,000 salary per month while every supervisor will get Rs32,000 salary per month.
The DC chairperson said that the Punjab government will provide Rs13.7 million every month to the Sialkot District Council for the salaries of these sanitary workers.
She said that the provision of pollution free atmosphere and better cleanliness facilities to the rural areas' population is the top priority of the District Council. However, every person of the society will have to play its role for provision of pollution free atmosphere to the people.

2 die in collision


MANDI BAHAUDDIN-Two persons died in road accident. According to rescue sources, a car going from Mandi Bahauddin towards Sargodha rammed into a sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley near Head Faqirian. Resultantly the car driver and co-driver both died on the spot.
They were identified as Nasir and Imran. One of them is said to be as an officer of Wapda.
The Miana Gondal police registered a case against the tractor driver and impounded the vehicles.
