Seven injured in Quetta IED blast

Quetta - At least seven people were injured in an improvised explosive device blast near security checkpost in Quetta on Tuesday.

According to police, security men were also among seven people who sustained injuries in an explosion that took place near Baleli Checkpost in Quetta.

The security forces and rescue teams immediately shifted the wounded to a nearby hospital. A large number of security contingents condoned off the area and launched search operation to apprehend the culprits.

An improvised explosive device, containing explosives between 6 to 8 kg, was used in the explosion, said the director civil Defence in a report of the blast. The director added that no such sufficient evidence has been found on the site to declare it a suicide bomb attack,” the Civil Defence Director revealed in the report.

He added the BDS has cleared the area.

Governor and chief minister have condemned the attack.
