satisfied with Army top-brass briefing on Afghan situation

ISLAMABAD   -   An eight hours long meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security held under the chair of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser yesterday was fully professional and formal.

Sources stated that Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa answered every question of the Parliamentarians with logic and understanding.

DG ISI Lt General Faiz Hameed briefed the Parliamentarians on Afghanistan’s situation and bringing different Afghan groups on one table.

Sources further said that the Parliamentarians lauded the efforts of Army top-brass.

Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif said that such kind of briefings should be held frequently which have removed various apprehensions.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also appreciated the briefing on Afghan situation and expressed his satisfaction.

The briefing told the Parliamentarians that we are not part of any camp but our camp now is only Pakistan.

The Parliamentarians were told that any solution of Afghan problem is political dialogue and Afghan people should decide their future.

The briefing further told that we will not be the part of any war because Pakistan’s integrity and safety is our top priority. Our soil will never be used against Afghanistan and we expect that Afghanistan’s soil will never be used against Pakistan, they further added.

Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and various Parliamentary leaders met the COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa separately.
