LARKANA - As many as 11 people were bitten and injured by a pye dog in Siddique Abad village located near Nazar Muhalla on Wednesday. The victims include 50-year Jan Muhammad Balhro, 9-year Junaid son of Niaz Phulpoto, 12-year Wazir son of Hakim Chandio, 15-year Zubair son of Muhammad Phulpoto, 7-year Arslan son of Shaman Shaikh, 7-year Irfan son of Nizam Shaikh, 16-year Sajjad son of Nizam Shaikh, 8-year Abdullah son of Irshad Shaikh, 18-year Fahim son of Allah Dino Shaikh and 16-year Sharique Ali son of Fateh Balhro. All the affected people were brought to the Dog Vaccination Centre of Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment and vaccination against rabies. The duty doctor provided vaccines to them; their wounds were dressed and then allowed to go home. The relatives of these persons told the media that a stray dog bit and injured all of them in a single village due to which they have brought them here for medical treatment and provision of injection ARV to save their precious lives. They urged the Sindh government to launch an annual massive campaign forthwith as in the past for killing of stray and pye dogs across the province especially in towns and villages to get rid of the menace.
