Dr Anas Sarwar Qureshi appointed Pro-VC UAF

FAISALABAD - The Governor/ Chancellor has appointed Prof Dr Anas Sarwar Qureshi Chairman Department of Anatomy University of Agriculture Faisalabad as Pro-Vice Chancellor UAF for a period of three years or till the date of superannuation which is earlier and he took over the charge of his office on Wednesday. After taking charge of his office, he presided meeting with his subordinates and directed them to make all kinds of future correspondence to his office.

According to notification issued by Punjab Agriculture Secretary stated that the Governor/ Chancellor in term of Section 15-A(1) read the section 11(8) of the Faisalabad University of Agriculture Act 1973 has been pleased to nominate Prof Dr Anas Sarwar Qureshi Chairman Department of Anatomy UAF as Pro-Vice Chancellor UAF for a period of three years or till the date of superannuation which is earlier.

He has produced 9 PhDs and 84 MPhil / MSc Hons candidates as a major supervisor or member of supervisory committee. 

 

Prof Qureshi is author of 225 publications including 120 research papers in impact factor/ ISI approved journals, more than 100 review articles; 5 books as major author / editor and several chapters in internationally published books. Currently, he is guiding 8 PhDs and numerous master students as a supervisor/ co-supervisor/member of supervisory committees.

In 2003, Prof Qureshi was bestowed Star Laureate Award in the recognition of his outstanding performance in his field, and in 2007 he was awarded ‘HEC Better Incentive Award for faculty members’ with maximum marks in the university (98 per cent).

Dr Qureshi has been the National Coordinator (Vet) of the EU-Asia-Link Project (Upgrading Human Resources for the Agricultural University of Faisalabad: a sustainable Partnership between Pakistan, Germany and the UK (UPHUMRAUF) funded by European Union. Besides, he has won research and development and travel grants from PARC, HEC, and PSF. He has also served as acting Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science UAF at various times.
