LHC’s Multan bench hears petition against PCB   

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court’s Multan bench has given stay to petitioner Ahmed Nawaz preventing Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to go ahead on the work on provincial associations. The honorable Judge Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabir has suspended the PCB constitution and issued notice to PCB to respond to the petition and has set May 26 as the next date of hearing. Petitioner Ahmad Nawaz has challenged several provisions of the constitution of the PCB which came into force in 19 August 2019. The petitioner contends that the cricket board unconstitutionally allowed the governing board members to continue their work. The petition contends that all decisions of the governing board members after the expiration of their term are unconstitutional and illegal. The petition also challenges the appointment of officials of provincial associations.
