MURREE - A massive fire broke out on Monday in the forests of Murree which was brought under control after hectic efforts of several hours. The fire spread fast and engulfed a large area of Goda Paphrail and Sunbhal Biah forests. It reduced hundreds of trees and plants to ashes.
The flames of the fire were visible from afar. The Rescue 1122 personnel and the Forest Department officials put out the fire.
At least eight fire tenders and three emergency ambulances were used to extinguish the fire. Locals also assisted the Rescue 1122 personnel and the Forest Department officials in putting out the fire.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took notice of the fire. He sought a report from the Rawalpindi division commissioner.
