KARACHI - Karachi Whites, as expected, won their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Division-II match against Hyderabad by nine wickets here at the NBP Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. After the host had scored 371 with Faraz Ahmed Khan contributing 124 runs and forced the opponents to follow on the result was a forgone conclusion. Hyderabad scored 197 in the first innings and were bowled out for 229 in the second innings leaving the host to get 56 to clinch the match. Karachi Whites reached 56 for the loss of one wicket. Zeeshan Jamil was unbeaten with 41 runs when the match ended in favor of the home team. The division I match between Habib Bank and Karachi Blues ended in a tame draw here on Wednesday at National Stadium. HBL, which had scored 376 in the first innings, resumed their second innings at overnight total of 80 for no loss and when the match ended, they had scored 210 for four. Ahmed Shahzad hit 60, Shan Masood 50 and Hasan Raza remained unbeaten at 42 at the close of the match. Atif Maqbool took 2/57. Karachi Blues had totalled 394 in their first innings.
