Govt not going anywhere; says Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says the Government is going nowhere.

Responding to questions by newsmen outside Supreme Court premises in Islamabad today, he said some elements have been trying to dislodge the Government for the last three and a half years but it stands its grounds.

Khawaja Asif said the present government is engaged in progress and development and no one can prevent it from bringing about real change.

He said that the court had given them time till Monday to file reply, indicating that it will constitute one-man commission to investigate the matter and will decide the case as early as possible. He said that they also want to take the country out of crisis which is why they presented themselves before the court for accountability.

He said that they respect the court and will accept the verdict, saying people should wait for the decision instead of taking to the roads and making life difficult of common people. He said that the court is biggest umpire and they are standing outside for its verdict. In reply to a comment of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he said that the ruling party doesn’t get money from shrines , adding that they face the music at frontline with common workers instead of doing push ups in front of media.

Minister for Railway Khawaj Saad Rafiq while speaking to media at the occasion said that Imran Khan is suffering from Khawaj phobia, asking the PTI chairman to remain peaceful and allow people to fulfill their responsibilities. He said the case is before the court and let the courts decide of the matter.

He advised Imran Khan to go to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and serve the people instead of leading them for protests.
