PM directs to expedite work on Fata reforms

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday has said the government would mobilize all possible resources to bring tribal areas of erstwhile FATA at par with rest of the country.

Talking to a delegation of FATA members of parliament in Islamabad, he said tribal people have right on the minerals and these should be spent on the construction and development of the area.

He said the government is trying its best to complete the process of merger of FATA with KP without any delay and hindrance. 

Prime minister said besides provision of allocated annual development funds for erstwhile FATA, the federal government, with the cooperation of the provincial governments, would fulfill the promises made with the people of tribal areas in distribution of the NFC Award.

The delegation discussed with the Prime Minister merging of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, development schemes and issues confronting the people of tribal areas.

Imran Khan said the patriotic people of tribal areas had suffered a lot of problems in the last several decades and visible improvement in the lives of its people is the foremost priority of PTI government.
