US trying to please India, says Mushahid

ISLAMABAD - PML-Q Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed on Tuesday said that US has announced head money on Hafiz Saeed to please India and there was no legal justification for it.
Terming it an attempt to malign the image of Pakistan, the senator said that Indian lobby in US was active against Pakistan and want to attach Kashmir issue with terrorism that was against the reality as Kashmir issue is not related with al Qaeda or 9/11. He said that this statement of Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R Sherman in India was a proof that Indian lobbyists were successful in US. He added that it was an election year in US why they were taking such decisions which were also breaching the international law.
Talking to media after a function regarding Easter held in PML House, the Senator further said that the decision to announce this bounty was a political decision rather than a legal one “ It’s a breach of international law and there are no cases against him in US while Supreme Court and High Court of Pakistan has released him from the detention. He is not a proclaimed offender”, Mushahid Hussain Syed said.
Mushahid said that earlier US government put number of Taliban in wanted list and later withdraw the list when they started negotiations with Taliban. Such lists are for personnel interest of US and are prepared on doctrine of necessity.
He urged the government of Pakistan to take up the issue on the right forum as this issue may extend the disturbances between the relationships of two countries. He said that Islamabad should also demand explanation from US for this step.
Earlier, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gill addressed a large gathering and said that PML-Q always played a pivotal role for the betterment of minorities in the country. Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gil on the occasion also distributed cheques among the Christian families.
