Driver of IMCG dismissed

ISLAMABAD - Federal Ombudsperson for Protection of Women against Harassment at Workplace Ms Musarrat Hilali has dismissed Gulam Mustafa, driver of Islamabad Model College for Girls, G-9/2 on charges of harassing a female teacher of the college. The ombudsman disposed the case after two hearings. A teacher of the college lodged complaint against Gulam Mustafa, a driver, that he was misbehaving with a teacher of the college in the college premise and she (the teacher) asked her to behave properly but the driver turned violent and abused her in presence of college students. Federal Ombudsperson referred the complaint to the Directorate of Education Islamabad for report and provision of necessary personal record of the driver. The record revealed that he had been involved in many cases of insulting female principals on different occasions. He had also been frequently transferred by the directorate on the complaints of similar nature. Federal Ombudsperson Musarrat Hilai conducted two hearings of the case. On the occasions both parties were given proper time to plead their case. Keeping in view the documentary evidences, statements of the complainants and cross-questioning of the counsel for the driver, Musarat Hilali dismissed the driver Gulam Mustafa from the service.
