N likely to take outages to NA

LAHORE The PML-N on Wednesday showed a serious concern at the increasing loadshedding in the Punjab during the ongoing month of Ramazan. The issue came up at a meeting of PML-Ns representatives and party workers held here under the chairmanship of Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan. The participants of the meeting pointed out that the Federal Government had announced that there would be no load-shedding during Sehri, Iftari and Taraveeh, but the promise had not been honoured. They said the load-shedding was causing serious problems to the masses especially fasting people during the holy month. On this occasion, Rana Sanaullah said theFederal Government should not force the people to take to the streets, and load-shedding in the existing hot and humid weather had made the life of the people miserable. MNA Bilal Yasin said the loadshedding issue would be raised in the National Assembly. MPA Salman Rafique said a step-motherly and discriminatory attitude was being shown to Punjab regarding supply of power as the situation in other provinces with regard to load-shedding was not so serious. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir and others. Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Wednesday gave powers of transferring and posting Assistant Commissioners to Commissioners within the division. The move aims at lowering the burden of the S&GAD. According to a notification issued by the Services & General Administration Department, the Divisional Commissioners have full powers regarding posting-transfer of Assistant Commissioners, who have minimum tenure of one year at their present assignments within the Division. However, transfer of Assistant Commissioner from one division to another will be made by the provincial government.
