Over two dozen Pakistanis freed from Saudi prisons land in Lahore

LAHORE - At least 28 Pakistanis nationals Tuesday landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport via chartered flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as they were released from the Saudi Arabian prisons after a royal decree.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had asked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for clemency during Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan in 2019.

Following their arrival, the citizens were received by Senator Ijaz Ahmed on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan. They also chanted slogans ‘Long Live Prime Minister Imran Khan’ as soon as they set their foot on Pakistani soil.

A large number of PTI workers, family and friends of the released Pakistanis gathered at the airport to welcome the freed Pakistanis and handed them Pakistan flags.

Senator Ijaz Chaudhary said it was a moment of immense pleasure for the PTI government that 28 Pakistanis imprisoned in various Saudi Arabian jails returned to their homes. Another 62 Pakistani prisoners already reached the country before Eid ul Azha.
