Bike ambulance service kicks off in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA-At least 100 officials of Rescue 1122 have been provided motorbike ambulances with the launch of "motorbike ambulance service" in Gujranwala division.
This was stated by Provincial Minister for Local Governments Mansha Ullah Butt during an address to the inauguration ceremony of the service at District Council Hall here the other day.
Deputy Commissioner Tariq Qureshi, District Council Chairman Mazhar Qayyum Nahra, Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer and MNAs - Mehmood Bashir Virk and Shazia Sohail attended the ceremony. The minister said that the service aims at providing first aid to the residents of thickly populated areas where ambulance vans cannot reach. He said that the motorbike ambulance service is a revolutionary step introduced by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He added that the service would help provide immediate relief to patients and the injured ones. "The service has already been inaugurated in Lahore and Multan by the chief minister himself," he said. On the occasion, Rescue 1122 DG Dr Rizwan Nasir briefed the provincial minister about emergency facilities in the motorbike ambulance which included blood pressure monitor, airway kit, trauma kit and a burn kit.
Besides, a trained medical technician will also be available with the motorbike emergency ambulance, Dr Rizwan informed. Later, Rescue 1122 officials conducted a flag march on motorbike ambulances.
