Police has arrested a fugitive suspect in Mashal murder case from Mardan. 

DPO Mardan Police Mian told media that Izhar alias Johny was arrested from Mardan who wanted by police from last eight months.

"Kalashnikov, a Kalakov and a pistol were recovered from the suspect," DPO said. 

The police official further stated that out of 61 suspects, 58 have been arrested as the police is working on confiscating of assets of last three fugitive suspects. 

At last hearing of the murder case, Mashal's father, Muhammad Iqbal recorded his statement in front of Anti Terrorism Court in Harripur jail. 

The statements of prosecution witnesses were also recorded and cross questioned by the lawyers of both sides. 

Earlier, Muhammad Iqbal and provincial government of KP has requested Supreme Court to transfer case hearing to Mardan in context of law and order situation. 

Iqbal also stated that he was pressurised by families of suspects and he feared of unfair trial.
