LAHORE - Pakistan top seed Aqeel Khan, Hasheesh Kumar, Amna Ali Qayyum, Asad Zaman and Abubakar Talha won titles in their respective categories in the 7th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournament that concluded at the PTF Complex, Islamabad. Aqeel Khan won the men’s singles title by beating M Abid 6-2, 6-3 while boys U-18 title was claimed by Hasheesh Kumar, who beat Sami Zeb 4-6, 6-1,7-6(6), emerging tennis star Amna Ali Qayum lifted the girls U-18 title by beating Natalia Zaman 6-2, 6-2, Abubakar Talha (Wapda) grabbed the boys/girls U-12 singles title by beating Amir Mazari 4-2, 4-1 and Asad Zaman clinched boys U-14 title by routing M Salaar 4-1, 4-1. Ali Embroidery Mills-sponsored Asad Zaman said: “I am thankful to my coach/mentor Rashid Malik (ZTBL) for his all-out support and his guidance towards top level. I am also grateful to Tariq Zaman CEO Ali Embroidery Mills for his generous support that helped me win all the titles in 2021 and I am keen to do well in Under-16 and Under-18 in 2022.” Rashid Malik also thanked Tariq Zaman for junior development in Punjab. Meanwhile, PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan, along with Kh Suhail Iftikhar, distributed prizes among the winner.
