Irrigation dept to take measures for cleaning, de-silting of Hyderabad canal

KARACHI - Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro has directed the concerned officers of the irrigation department to take measures for the cleaning and de-silting of Hyderabad Branch from Udero Lal branch point to Rahuki distributory.

This he directed while meeting with a delegation of the members of Central Abadgar Association, Rahuki distributory at his office here, said a statement on Monday.

He said that the de-silting of Hyderabad Branch will help resolve water issues faced by the farmers of the Rahuki branch and ensure smooth flow of agricultural water to the farmers.  The delegation apprised the Minister about different issues including the lack of de-silting of Hyderabad branch from the point of Udero Lal to Rahuki branch and demanded its proper de-silting. 

On the occasion, Jam Khan Shoro extended his full cooperation and assured the delegation that he will  personally visit the Rahuki distributory to inspect the overall water situation. He also directed the concerned Chief Engineer Sukkhur Barrage left Bank, Sayed Sardar Ali Shah to take effective steps for proper cleaning and de-silting of the Rahuki branch as soon as possible and other water issues of the farmers should also be resolved without delay.
