PPP top command conducts interviews

ISLAMABAD - The parliamentary board of Pakistan People Party (PPP) on Sunday interviewed 35 women and nine scholars for four reserved seats for future government in AJK. The interviews were conducted here at Zardari House. The parliamentary board comprising Faryal Talupur, Chairperson PPP Women Wing, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Raja Perviaz Ashraf, Barrister Ch Sultan Mehmood, President PPP-AJK Ch Abdul Majeed, General Secretary PPP AJK Ch Latif Akbar and Sardar Yaqoob interviewed 35 women for three reserved seats. PPP leadership is expecting a couple of more seats in remaining AJK polls and it may raise to women reserved seats for PPP to four. Sources aware on development told TheNation that top leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) is influencing sitting Prime Minister AJK Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, who is also chief of Muslim Conference (MC), for alliance with PPP-AJK in future government. One women reserved seat expectedly will go to MC, however PPP leadership has decided to give the Ulema-e-Din or Mushaikh seat to Pir Attiq ur Rehman from Mirpur. Faryal Talpur is visiting UK in couple of days and the decision on women reserved seats will be announced after her visit. Moreover, a meeting of Ch Shujahat with MC chief Abdul Qayoom is expected in couple of days. However, the AJK Premier has conveyed certain reservations and grievances to Ch Shujaat in meeting that took place in Islamabad on Saturday last.
