Bhit Shah Development Authority to be set up




KARACHI  - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved the establishment of Bhit Shah Development Authority.The chief minister took the decision after a meeting with Provincial Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Makhdoom Jamil-ul-Zaman, here on Monday. The provincial minister had proposed the establishment of “Bhit Shah Development Authority” to develop the last resting place of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai on modern lines. The provincial minister presented a book “Khandan Hazrat Ghazi Abbas Alamdar” published by Talib-al-Maula Academy, Hala.He also apprised the chief minister of the problems of his constituency, and the steps taken to strengthen embankments and other preventive measures in the wake of monsoon rains.Shah assured the minister of resolving the problems of his constituency. Provincial ministers Engineer Rafiq, Sadiq Ali Memon, Nadeem Bhutto, Sajid Jokhyo and others also called on the chief minister.COMPLAINANT GETS REFUND ON DIRECTIVE OF SINDH OMBUDSMAN: On the directive of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Asad Ashraf Malik, a complainant Zafar Naveed received refund of Rs. 27,79,000 which he had deposited with the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) in the year 2007 for purchase of an Industrial plot in the city. A statement on Tuesday from Ombudsman Sindh said that Muhammad Zafar Naveed in his complaint to Provincial Ombudsman Sindh stated that he had deposited the amount with CDGK in the year 2007 for purchase of an Industrial plot in Korangi Industrial Area Karachi, measuring 1,000 square yards in response to an advertisement published in newspapers. He added that the area was neither developed nor possession of the plot given to him despite of lapse of several years.In view of the situation he had been approaching KDA for refund of his deposited amount hut there was no response from the organization, he maintained. The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh initiated an enquiry and directed Director Land Management, KDA to submit immediate report concerning the complaint. During the investigation, the representative of KDA agreed to refund amount of Rs27,79,000 to the complainant in two equal installments. Two cheques of Rs13,89,500 received from KDA were delivered to the complainant by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Asad Ashraf Malik at his office. The complainant expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh for resolving his long standing problem, the statement added.
