Addl Chief Secretary inaugurates first pet clinic in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR - South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Capt (retd) Saqib Zafar on Saturday inaugurated the first Pet Clinic set up at Bahawalpur Cattle Hospital.

South Punjab Secretary Livestock Aftab Ahmed Pirzada, Director Livestock Amir Mahmood Bukhari, Additional Director Livestock Syed Muhammad Sabteen, ADIO Dr Sohail Khan and Deputy Director Livestock Dr Sohail Azmat were present on the occasion.   The Additional Chief Secretary was informed in the briefing that the best treatment facility for pets and birds was available at this pet hospital only by paying a slip fee. 

Later, Additional Chief Secretary Captain (Retd) Saqib Zafar planted Ashoka in the greenery of Cattle Hospital. He directed that as many trees as possible should be planted during the monsoon tree planting campaign to make the environment greener.

Meanwhile South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Capt (retd) Saqib Zafar visited Batol Dairy Farm at Chak No 30 BC Bahawalpur and inspected the ongoing immunization against foot and mouth disease. Additional Chief Secretary also vaccinated a cow against foot-and-mouth disease. 

South Punjab Secretary Livestock Aftab Ahmed Pirzada, Director Livestock Amir Mahmood Bukhari, Additional Director Livestock Syed Muhammad Sabteen and Ahmed Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.  Additional Chief Secretary appreciated the performance of the officers and staff of the Livestock Department. He vowed to make Bahawalpur Division a Disease Free Zone.  He said that ten doses of vaccines would be given to protect the animals from foot-and-mouth disease while the eighth dose of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine was being administered at present.
