From Nadia's comeback to Ayesha's farewell

The year sure has brought a lot of surprises

This year bore quite a few surprises. With Nadia Khan announcing her comeback to the industry she bid farewell to years ago, a wave of happiness passed within her fans who missed her versatile acting. Her recent drama Aisi hai Tanhai has not only managed to impress the fans through her veteran acting but also left them wanting for more of her soulful performances. Zun Mureed another drama serial that features Nadia Khan as the protagonist has proven to be another hit coming from the morning-show-host-turned-actress.

Where we got our superstar back, there, however, we are also saddened by the farewell of a mesmerising beauty of the industry; Ayesha Khan. While addressing her fans, the actress wrote:

“With great pleasure and humility, I have decided to bid farewell to our wonderful media industry. I am bowing out with immense satisfaction and a lot of pride to move on to the next phase of my life. I have always tried to keep my professional and personal life separate and request everyone to understand please. I would also like to let my colleagues and friends know about the limitation that I might have had in accepting new projects since 2016 out of which a few scripts stayed with me for a long time. My apologies. As I move on in life to discover how fate unfolds, I would request my well-wishers to remember me and my parents in their prayers."

Ayesha Khan has been a woman of success. From a soulful actress to a style icon, her career is littered with a fair share of stardom, pride and achievements. Her performances from dramas like Mehndi , Mere Chaaragar, Woh Rishte Woh Natey, Khuda Mera bhi hai, Ijazat , Bol Meri Machli, Vasal, Parsa, Bari Appa, and Meri Adhuri Muhabbat made her stand out as the queen of emotions. From a vulnerable, delicate twin sister of an oppressed girl, as depicted in Bol Meri Machli to the tom-boyish Paari in Parsa; from a submissive wife, as portrayed in the serial Ijaazat to a selfish vamp in Mann Mayal, each role gives a fair representation of her versatility .

While paying tribute to the most celebrated celebrity of her times, the blockbuster movies like Waar, and Jawani Phir Nahin Ani add to her successful career in the industry and cannot be neglected. Her hard work and consistency earned her many awards as well. She also appeared as a judge and a mentor in the reality show Miss Veet Pakistan and made her mark in the world of fashion and glamour.

The year sure has brought a lot of surprises – some took the nation by storm, while others brought their own charms along. Thankful to Ayesha Khan for some real quality performances of all times, we wish her good luck for her future endeavours and wholeheartedly welcome Nadia Khan back, with the hopes that this industry will be benefited to the most from a much sophisticated actress such as herself
