LAHORE - Member Punjab Assembly and President PML (N), Cultural Wing Farah Deeba has said that the Punjab Govt was taking all precautionary measures to eradicate the dengue virus. She said that all the facilities including health of the people would be ensured. The Social Welfare Department and NGOs have jointly launched a cleanliness drive on the directives of the CM Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Farah revealed. On Saturday we had started the drive by fumigating the spray at Allama Iqbal Town area. By providing the pamphlets at roads and streets we had given the awareness to the masses that how we can save ourself from the dengue virus. In this campaign more than 50 women also participated with us and we distributed panadol tablets among the peoples, Farah informed. Farah said special task has been given to the ladies MPAs to make this drive a success. Awareness drive has also been launched at schools, colleges and in different areas which would be continued on daily basis. Farah said while talking to the mediamen that we would have to work together to tackle this natural calamity. She also advised the masses to keep clean their homes and the areas and also pray for mercy from the Allah Almighty. Farah said that the drive which has been launched on the directives of the CM would be made successful. The deadly virus, which is keeping its venom and force intact, took nine more lives in lahore on Monday, pushing the death toll to 171. Thousands more were still fighting for life in various hospitals of the City, which reported 443 new cases in a single day. Meanwhile, Indonesian medical experts have reached City to deal with the situation.
