ISLAMABAD   -   Former President Asif Ali Zardari yesterday said that the Pakistan People’s Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto helped people realize and express their political consciousness. In his message on the birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Zardari – who is also the President of the PPP Parliamentarians paid rich tributes to late Bhutto.

Zardari said Bhutto rebuilt a devastated country. “Quaid-e-Awam honorably repatriated 93,000 army officers and soldiers from the captivity of the enemy, while recovering thousands of square meters of land from the enemy. 

He transformed a defeated country into a dignified nation. He gave the 1973 Constitution and made us a nuclear power,” he added.

Zardari expressed his resolve of keeping the flag hoisted by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, flying high.
