OGDCL-Fatimid Centre to be established in Dera Ismail Khan

ISLAMABAD PR - OGDCL, a flagship E&P company in petroleum sector in Pakistan, is striving to improve the livelihood of the communities through CSR initiatives in social sectors. Few of the best projects in health sector include OGDCL Free Mammography Camps, OGDCL Free Surgical Eye Camps, free of cost treatment and medicines to the locals through OGDCL’s dispensaries throughout the country around its operating fields. Another feather in the cap in this series is the proposed OGDCL – Fatimid Centre Dera Ismail Khan for the people of southern districts of KP.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fatimid Foundation is the first charitable blood transfusion centre which has been providing blood transfusion and related services to Thalassemia patients in Peshawar since 1988. Keeping in view the heavy influx of patients from southern districts of KP at Fatimid Peshawar Centre, another centre is proposed to be established at Dera Ismail Khan.

As per data available from various hospitals of the southern districts of KP, the number of patients with blood disorder diseases is more than 7000. The OGDCL-Fatimid, First Class Hematological Centre equipped with state of the art machinery will be in access to the marginalized communities having patients of Thalassemia and Hemophilia who have been deprived of quality treatment previously and had to travel all the way to Peshawar in this regard.

Fatimid Foundation manages the largest blood bank & transfusion services in Pakistan and provides absolutely free of charge transfusion to its 14000+ registered underprivileged sick patients of Thalassemia, Hemophilia and other genetic blood disorder patients on all Pakistan basis. Construction of OGDCL-FATIMID Centre will be completed in approx.18 months time and is expected to start its operation afterwards.
